1. Introduction
Sonus ("Sonus", "we", "us" or "our") is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) application published by Selcora Mobile. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Sonus app and this website collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Sonus, you agree to the practices described here.
We built Sonus to be private by design. Your communication boards, cards and the sentences you build stay on your device.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information stored only on your device
The following content is created and stored locally on your device and is not sent to our servers:
- Profiles you create and their settings
- Custom cards and categories, including any photos or labels you add
- Favorites, recently used cards and usage counts
- The sentences you build and have spoken aloud
2.2 Information collected automatically
To keep the app reliable and to support a free product, we and our service providers may collect limited technical and usage data, such as:
- Device type, operating system version and app version
- Anonymous, aggregated usage and crash/diagnostic data
- A device advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking — see Section 4)
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address or phone number inside the app.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate and maintain the app
- To understand which features are used so we can improve Sonus
- To diagnose crashes and fix technical problems
- To process optional in-app purchases and restore them
- To display advertising that helps keep Sonus free (where applicable)
4. App Tracking Transparency
On iOS, Sonus will ask for your permission before tracking your activity for personalized advertising. If you decline, the app continues to work fully and you may see less relevant ads. You can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

6. Children's Privacy
Sonus is often used by and on behalf of children, including those with communication needs. We do not knowingly collect personal information that identifies a child. Content such as custom cards and photos stays on the device. We encourage parents, caregivers and educators to supervise setup and use.
7. Data Retention
Content stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Anonymous analytics and diagnostic data are retained by our service providers only as long as needed for the purposes above.
8. Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data. Because most of your data stays on your device, you can exercise many of these rights by editing or deleting content in the app, or by uninstalling it.
